Ruben Martinez, a sophomore from Mexico City, Mexico, was selected as the NCCAA Men's Soccer Division I defensive player of the week.

Martinez anchored the back line for the Panthers as they defeated Illinois Tech 1-0 and Illinois Wesleyan University 2-1.

The only goal against the Panthers all week came when Martinez was off the field for two minutes.

The Panthers posted one shutout on the week as they went 2-0.
