Men's soccer upended by Webster at home

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team competed against Webster on Saturday for the second time this season and lost 2-0 to the Gorloks in SLIAC conference play at Francis Field.

The Panthers allowed goals in the 11th and 37th minutes of the match.

The scoring opportunities in the match were evenly distributed with Webster taking 16 shots and the Panthers getting 15 shots.

Webster ended with nine shots on goal, and Greenville's goalkeeper Gerardo Lopez finished with seven saves.

Jared McPeek led the Panthers in shot attempts with four, and Napoleon Urquidi and Claudio Trevino each had three shots.

Juan Jaimes, McPeek, and Trevino all produced one shot on goal.

The Panthers (1-5-2, 1-3-1 SLIAC) find themselves in seventh place in the SLIAC standings after an unforgiving opening portion of the conference schedule.

Greenville's challenging stretch continues with a match at first place Spalding on Tuesday evening. The Panthers tied the Golden Eagles 2-2 in the first conference match of the season on March 13.
