Men's soccer cruises to 4-1 win at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - The men's soccer team defeated Principia 4-1 on Tuesday night on the road.

The GU Panthers held the upper hand in the match, outshooting the PC Panthers 22-9 in the contest.

Greenville scored a pair of goals in the each half.

Claudio Trevino opened the scoring for GU with a goal in the second minute of the game while Jared McPeek provided an assist.

In the 24th minute, Luis Duran netted his fifth goal of the season, making it four goals in his last two games.

Before the first half ended, Principia put a mark on the scoreboard with a goal.

In the second half, McPeek scored his second goal of the season in the 64th minute, and Napoleon Urquidi had his third goal of the year in the 65th minute.

Gerardo Lopez faced seven Principia shots and tallied two saves

The Panthers (3-5-3, 3-3-2 SLIAC) have a tentative contest scheduled with Washington-St. Louis on Saturday before returning to SLIAC play on April 14 at conference favorite Iowa Wesleyan.
