Men's track and field receives winning performance from Jeremiah Davis

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The men's track and field team opened their 2018-19 season by participating in the Illinois Wesleyan first chance meet. Greenville was paced by a winning performance by Jeremiah Davis in the 60 meter dash.

Davis bettered a runner from Saint Louis University with a time of 6.90 seconds in the 60 for his event-winning performance.

Greenville had two runner-up placements at the meet. L.C. Washington started his season with a distance of 15.27 meters in the weight throw to place second. Shot putter Mitchell Hooten received second place with a throw of 14.99 meters.

Alex Fink provided Greenville with a third place finish in the 300 meter dash, recording a time of 35.40 seconds which tied for third.

A pair of entries posted fifth place finishes. Steven Oscar completed the 200 meter dash in 23.57 seconds, and Washington produced a throw of 13.56 in the shot put.

The Panthers return to the track on January 19 at Illinois College in Jacksonville.
