ELSAH, Ill. - The men's track and field team sent a small contingent to Principia on Saturday to participate in their season-opening indoor meet. The event was a smaller event that allowed the team to experience current safety protocols in a competition environment.
Most events had just a few entries, and Greenville managed to secure the best marks in nearly every competition.
In an event with multiple competitors, Wesley Kile and Thomas Harris both recorded a mark of 3.35 meters (10 feet-11.75 inches) in the pole vault to secure the best performance.
Carson Rantanen provided a time of 7.14 seconds in the 60 meter dash as he won the race, and he also recorded the best time in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.08 seconds.
Alex Fink posted a time of 52.36 seconds in his 400 meter dash winning effort, and Collin Kessinger had the top time of 2:03.74 in the 800 meter run.
Kaleb Carlson bettered a field of five runners in the one mile run with a time of 4:34.31.
The Panthers will head back to Principia on January 29 and 30 for another indoor meet.
