Men's track and field earns second at Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's track and field team placed second of four teams at the Washington University invite on Saturday.

The Panthers recorded 42 points, taking second to Washington University.

Maurice Radtke was the winner in the shot put with a mark of 13.68 meters (44 feet-10.75 inches).

Di'Mond Salmond ended first in the triple jump as he recorded the event's best mark of 13.45 meters (44-1.5).

Wesley Kile was the champion in the pole vault with clearance of 4.40 meters (14-5.25).

In the high jump, Hunter Matthews posted an event winning distance of 1.85 meters (6-0.75).

Sprinter Carson Rantanen was first in the 100 meter dash, posting a time of 11.06 seconds.

GU's 4x100 meter relay that included Salmond, Rantanen, Jared Beyers, and Matthews ended the race first in 44.49 seconds.

The Panthers go to McKendree for a meet on Friday.
