Men's track and field led by Rantanen's 100 meter performance at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The men's track and field team competed at the Indiana State meet on Friday where they had their final chance to qualify for next week's NCCAA national championships in Greenville.

Carson Rantanen was the winner of the 100 meter dash, finishing in 10.55 seconds. His time ranks third in the NCAA Division III.

Justin Miller ended as the runner up in the javelin throw, recording an attempt of 50.12 meters (164 feet-5 inches).

Collin Kessinger ran in the 1500 meter run and posted a time of 4:08.61 to place sixth. Teammate Gianni Estrada was the next runner to finish, clocking a time of 4:10.85. Lukas Baird was ninth in the 1500 with a time of 4:11.30.

The 4x400 meter relay team ended seventh with a mark of 3:37.31.

In the pole vault competition, Wesley Kile produced a clearance of 4.25 meters (13-11.25) to end seventh.

Hunter Matthews was eighth in the high jump, reaching a height of 1.85 meters (6-0.75).

The Panthers will have qualifying members of the team compete in the NCCAA national championships on Wednesday through Friday in Greenville.
