Men's track and field receives wins in three events in third place NCCAA performance

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's track and field team placed third at the NCCAA national championships that concluded on Friday in Greenville. The winner of the meet was Grace with 147 points, and Bethel (Ind.) was second with 132.33 points.

C.J. Anderson had the best time in the prelims of the 100 meter dash, clocking a time of 10.51 seconds. However, in the finals, teammate Carson Rantenan won the 100 meter dash, posting a time of 10.73 seconds to win the race.

Anderson and Rantanen joined Chase LaTouche and Jared Beyers for the national championship in the 4x100 meter relay, ending with a time of 41.28 seconds.

Dylan Goodyear, who is making a run at qualifying for the NCAA Division III nationals, clocked a time of 9:36.60 in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

Greenville had several second place marks.

Wesley Kile finished second in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.45 meters (14 feet-7.25 inches).

Nate Brown offered a national runner-up attempt in the discus, hitting a mark of 46.98 meters (154-2). He was also second in the hammer throw with an attempt of 47.88 meters (157-1).

Gianni Estrada competed in the 5000 meter run and provided a time of 15:35 which gave GU second place in the event.

GU's Collin Kessinger, Joe Gomez, Lukas Baird, and Kaleb Carlson were second in the 4x800 with a time of 7:49.

Several members of the team will go to North Central for a meet on Wednesday and Thursday.
