Goodyear heads to finals of 3000 meter steeplechase with record-setting performance at NCAA D-III nationals

GENEVA, Ohio - The men's track and field team competed in day one of the NCAA Division III national championships on Thursday. Dylan Goodyear placed seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase to advance to the finals on Saturday.

Goodyear completed the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9:07.01, setting a new personal best and school record. He was fourth in his heat and will move into the finals on Saturday.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Chase LaTouche, Carson Rantanen, Tyshawn Hamilton, and C.J. Anderson recorded a time of 41.72 seconds, but they were disqualified due to a mishap on the handoff in zone three. Their mark was seventh in their heat.

Anderson and Nate Brown will participate in the 100 meter dash and shot put, respectively, on Friday.
