Men's volleyball knocked off by Loras

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's volleyball team jumped ahead by winning the first two sets but could not finish off Loras as they fell in five sets Friday night.

Greenville took 26-24, 25-23 wins in the first and second set.  However, Loras rattled off 25-17, 25-21, 15-9 wins in sets three through five to send Greenville to a disappointing defeat.

Manuel Benitez provided Greenville with a match-high 21 kills in 47 attacks.

Tanner Smith directed Greenville's attack with 37 assists.

Kyle Ward's presence was felt at the net with two solo blocks and three block assists.

Andrew Johnson paced Greenville's defensive efforts with 13 digs.

Overall, Greenville hit just under .130 for match with 29 attack errors.  Loras outblocked Greenville by a 16-10 margin.

The Panthers (2-2, 0-1 MCVL) host Benedictine on Saturday at 7 p.m.
