Men's volleyball takes eighth at NCCAA national invitational

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - The men's volleyball team closed their season opening weekend with a pair of four set losses in the NCCAA national invitational tournament at Trinity Christian on Saturday.

In the final match of pool play, Greenville suffered a 25-17, 25-15, 19-25, 25-16 loss to Judson.

George Black finished with 13 kills in the opening match and had 55 attacks

Andrew Martin posted a line of 7 kills/3 errors/18 attacks/.222 hitting percentage as he recorded the highest efficiency. Martin also had two block assists.

Alejandro Condoy was the team leader with 13 assists, and Ryan Nelson paced the Panther defense with 16 digs.

In the day's seventh place match, Greenville fell 20-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 after taking the opening set.

Black produced a monster effort with 26 kills, and Martin had 13 kills.

Condoy led GU with 26 assists, and Jacob Hughes helped with 22 assists.

Nelson was the team leader with 16 digs, and Martin added two more block assists.

The Panthers (0-4) host Concordia Chicago and Rockford on Friday, January 31, in Greenville.
