GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team endured a difficult evening in their 84-67 loss to Westminster in SLIAC play. Westminster controlled play from start to finish as they handed GU their second conference loss of the spring.
The Blue Jays held a 21-14 lead over GU in the first quarter, and they took a 41-24 lead to halftime.
Westminster expanded their lead to 66-45 after the third quarter and closed the evening with an 84-67 win.
Madelyn Stephen led all scorers in the contest with 19 points. She sank 9-of-15 shots from the field and 1-of-2 free throws.
Emily Reinneck managed to finish with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
Lauren Eagleson helped GU's offense with a game-high eight assists, and Ashley Anderson posted four blocked shots.
The Panthers (4-8, 2-2 SLIAC) travel to Webster for a game on Friday night at 5:30 p.m.
