Women's basketball cruises past Eureka

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team controlled Friday night's contest against Eureka and managed to capture an 87-70 win in H.J. Long Gymnasium.

Emily Reinneck ended as the top scorer in the game with 24 points, and she also led the team with eight rebounds and six assists.

Madelyn Stephen provided a 15 point effort.

The Panthers led 17-11 after the first quarter and 38-28 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Greenville held a 28-25 advantage, and they closed the game with a 21-17 final quarter.

Greenville shot over 50 percent from the field, ending at 51.8 percent with a 29-of-56 shooting performance. GU made 8-of-15 three-pointers, hitting 53.3%, and they made 21-of-31 free throws.

The Panthers (5-9, 3-3 SLIAC) will host Blackburn on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
