MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - The women's basketball team outscored Iowa Wesleyan 18-7 in the third quarter as they recovered from a halftime deficit and picked up a 71-63 victory on Wednesday night.
The Panthers trailed 19-14 after the first quarter and faced a 36-34 deficit at halftime.
After using the third quarter to take a 52-43 lead, Greenville held on in the fourth quarter and gained the win.
Madelyn Stephen produced a 22-point outing to lead all scorers in the game.
Emily Reinneck added 14 points, and Abigail Reinneck managed to score 10 points.
The Panthers outrebounded the Tigers 47-34 and were led by Emily Reinneck with 11 boards.
Emily Reinneck also added four assists and six steals.
With the win, the Panthers improved their record to 7-9 (5-3 SLIAC) and will host a first round game on Wednesday, April 7, in the SLIAC tournament. They conclude the regular season at Blackburn on Saturday in a game that begins at 1 p.m.
