Women's soccer cruises to 7-0 win at Blackburn

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team dominated Blackburn from start to finish on Tuesday as they recorded a 7-0 win.

Jen De Leon De Leon led Greenville with two goals and two assists. Molly McDonnell recorded two goals and an assist.

McDonnell opened the scoring in the third minute with an assist from De Leon De Leon.

In the 12th minute, Jade Taylor provided a goal, and Kate Arthur produced a goal in the 36th minute to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

In the second half, De Leon De Leon struck with a goal in the 53rd minute, and McDonnell added a goal in the 57th minute.

De Leon De Leon scored for the second time in the 62nd minute, and Athena Hagerman posted a goal at the end of regulation.

The Panthers ended with 24 shots, 15 of which were shots on goal.

De Leon De Leon totaled five shots.

The Panthers (9-5-2, 6-0-1 SLIAC) will attempt to collect their first SLIAC regular season championship with a match against Iowa Wesleyan on Thursday at McKendree University. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
