FENTON, Mo. - The SLIAC's two 2019 regular season defending co-champions met on Wednesday in the first regular season soccer match for both teams, and last year's first time champion,  the Greenville women's soccer team, started the 2021 spring season with a 3-2 win against a Webster team that is gunning for their ninth straight championship.

In a back and forth contest, the two teams alternated scoring in the match.

Just four minutes later, Webster tied the score at 1-1, and it stayed that way at halftime.

Jen De Leon De Leon beat a diving Webster goalkeeper for the winning goal in the 76th minute with Vanessa Ramirez gaining the assist.

Cadwell finished the match with a goal and an assist for the Panthers.

After an even first half that saw Webster outshoot Greenville 3-2, the Panthers turned up the intensity in the second half, recording 12 shots compared to Webster's two.

Overall Greenville ended with a 14-5 advantage in shots. Wilson provided five of GU's shots.
