Women's soccer falls 2-0 against Webster in weather-shortened match

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team lost a 2-0 match against Webster on Saturday evening in Greenville as they were unable to defeat a Webster team for the second time this season.

The match entered a lightening delay in the 78th minute, and after a brief delay, the officials decided to terminate the match and give Webster the win.

Webster managed to score both goals in the first half on defensive breakdowns by the Panthers.  The Gorloks put the ball in the net in the 32nd and 44th minutes.

Webster held an 11-7 shot advantage, and the Panthers recorded one shot on goal by Emma Cadwell.

Greenville had three shots from Jen De Leon De Leon.

Panther goalkeeper Grace Gehner produced five saves on seven shots on goal.

The Panthers (1-4, 1-4 SLIAC) head to Spalding for a match on Tuesday afternoon.
