Women's track and field records second place at NCCAA national championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The women's track and field team finished with 134.5 points for the second place position at the NCCAA national championships in South Carolina. Greenville had four national champions, including the field athlete of the meet, Cayden Sharp.

Sharp contributed to 33 of GU's points. Sharp produced a win in the heptathlon with 4479 points and recorded the event's high point totals in the 100 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meter dash, and long jump.

Laila Graham was the winner in the high jump with a height of 1.62 meters.

Tawny Rodriguez posted a national championship winning throw of 46.03 meters in the hammer throw.

Emma Brown had a winning javelin attempt of 38.27 meters.

The Panthers will continue their season at the Augustana last chance meet on Thursday.
