Women's volleyball pulls through with win at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team gave head coach Tom Ackerman his 300th career win with a five set victory at Principia on Tuesday.  The Panthers won 25-19, 25-27, 25-18, 17-25, 15-12.

The victory allowed Greenville to avenge a defeat to Principia earlier in season.

The Panthers closed the match by hitting at a .208 rate in the final set.

Abby Freeman came up with 19 kills to lead Greenville.  Allyson Mitchell added 17 kills and 29 digs.

Alex Falcone provided assists on 39 of GU's 61 kills.

Brittni Bell recorded a .250 hitting percentage with 13 kills and four errors in 36 attempts.

Allyson Grabowski collected 36 of Greenville's 165 digs as she posted a season-high effort.  Her previous high of 27 digs came in the season's earlier match against Principia.

The Panthers (18-4, 13-3 SLIAC) host Fontbonne on Friday at 7 p.m. in their Homecoming match.
