Women's volleyball sweeps past Fontbonne and Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The women's volleyball team improved their SLIAC record to a perfect 3-0 with a pair of 3-0 wins at Eureka on Saturday. They defeated Fontbonne 25-15, 27-25, 25-20 and followed that with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-9 win over Eureka.

Abby Freeman continued her offensive dominance against Fontbonne, recording 15 kills and three service aces in notching 18 points.

Anna Finch had eight kills in 14 attempts, accruing a hitting percentage of .571.

Sacorra Patton was prominent on defense with 11 digs, and Maci Bonacorsi produced two solo blocks.

The Panthers finished with 39 kills and just six errors in 92 attempts, and their attack was supported by Kaitlin Murray with 20 assists.

Against Eureka, Freeman again led GU with 12 kills and four service aces.

Overall, Greenville's offensive prowess was more efficient against Eureka as the Panthers finished with 39 kills, eight errors, and 75 attacks. GU posted a .413 hitting percentage.

Murray and Jordan Lempa split the setting duties with Murray totaling 17 assists and Lempa posting 16 assists.

Emily Stahl helped Greenville at the net with a solo block and three block assists while Patton paced GU with eight digs.

The Panthers (8-6, 3-0 SLIAC) travel to Iowa Wesleyan for a match on Tuesday.
