Women's volleyball survives five-set battle with Webster

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team squared off with Webster in the SLIAC "Game of the Week" and were winners in five sets.

Greenville took the opening two sets 25-22, 25-1, but they slipped in the third and fourth sets 21-25, 21-25. In the final set, each team served for match point, but GU was able to prevail 19-17 in an extended fifth set.

Anna Finch had one of the top performances for Greenville with a match-high 21 kills and a hitting percentage of .435. She also added two solo blocks and four block assists in a 25-point match.

Jasmin Smith provided Greenville with a double-double of 14 kills and 30 digs. Her 30 digs was a team high.

GU's attack was set up by Jordan Lempa with 30 set assists and Kaitlin Murray with 25 set assists.

The Panthers (18-7, 12-1 SLIAC) travel to Blackburn on Saturday for matches against Blackburn and Spalding.
