Greenville sweeps past Eureka in three sets

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team played their first home match in 15 months and the first home athletic contest at Greenville University since March 2020 on Tuesday night. The Panthers were three-set winners in a brisk 25-13, 25-11, 25-11 triumph over Eureka.

Greenville's attack performed well all match as the team posted hitting percentages of .400, .306, and .586 throughout the match. Greenville ended with 47 kills, seven errors, and 95 attacks as they produced an overall kill percentage of .421.

Anna Finch was GU's leader on the attack and played superbly in the middle. She had 15 kills without committing an error.

Amanda Hollis followed with 11 kills, and Jasmin Smith had nine kills without an error.

Jordan Lempa added 41 of GU's 44 set assists, and she tallied six services aces.

On the defensive side of the net, Chasity Hill totaled 17 digs. Smith had Greenville's only solo block and an additional block assist. Hollis and Emily Stahl provided two block assists.

The Panthers (2-0, 2-0 SLIAC) are scheduled to host Iowa Wesleyan in Greenville on Thursday at 7 p.m. The match will be played without spectators in attendance.
