Women's volleyball collects sweep over Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team competed against Iowa Wesleyan on Thursday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium, and the contest was never in doubt as Greenville rolled to a 25-11, 25-11, 25-19 three-set victory.  Greenville received close to one-quarter of their points from service aces and compiled a season-high 17 aces in the win.

With 17 of Greenville's 75 points coming on aces, Greenville's roster did not need to produce an effort of more than 10 kills.  Teammates Mia Bonacorsi and Emily Stahl each registered eight kills to lead the GU squad.  Anna Finch was right behind with seven kills.

Greenville's effort in service aces saw Jordan Lempa lead the squad with seven aces.  Sacorra Patton managed to provide four aces, and Jasmin Smith had three aces.

The Panthers recorded a hitting percentage of .276 in the match, gaining 37 kills with 13 errors in 87 attacks.  Greenville performed the best in the first set when they swung at a .348 clip, putting away 11 kills with just three errors in 23 attacks.

GU tallied a .286 hitting percentage in the second set and a .222 rate in the third set.

Chasity Hill continued her strong defensive play with a team-high 14 digs in the match.

Finch and Bonacorsi teamed up for a shared block.

The Panthers (3-0, 3-0 SLIAC) continue their season on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Westminster.
