Women's volleyball moves to SLIAC semis

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team advanced to a common position among the final four teams standing in the SLIAC tournament with a quick three set win over Eureka on Saturday in H.J. Long Gymnasium.

The Panthers won 25-15, 25-8, 25-18 in a match that just fell short of lasting one hour.

The morning was highlighted by senior middle hitter Anna Finch recording her 1000th career kill in a Panther uniform.  Finch finished with 14 kills and two errors on 27 swings to end at a .444 hitting clip.

Mia Bonacorsi was Greenville's leader in kills with 15 kills and two errors on 42 attempts.

In addition, Jasmin Smith surpassed double figures with 11 kills and six errors on 34 swings.

The Panther defense was led by Chasity Hill with 22 digs.  Bonacorsi and Smith produced double-doubles, with 17 and 14 digs, respectively.

Jordan Lempa ran GU's offense efficiently with 43 set assists.

The Panthers (14-2) will host Fontbonne on Wednesday in the semifinals of the SLIAC tournament.
