Women's cross country finishes as SLIAC runner up

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The women's cross country team earned the SLIAC runner up position at the conference championships on Saturday at E.P. Sawyer State Park. Hannah Williams paced the Panthers with a seventh place time of 24:32 over the six kilometer course.

Williams earned a SLIAC first team all-conference honor with her seventh place performance.

Emma Leonhard was 10th with a time of 24:53 as GU's number two runner.

Crossing the line third for Greenville and 13th overall was Kori Nesbit in 25:07.

Leonhard and Nesbit's placement was good for a position on the SLIAC second team. Leonhard was also Greenville's selection for the All-Sportsmanship team.

Tori Dyson and Sabrina Favela collected GU's final two scoring positions. Dyson had a 15th place time of 25:11, and Favela was 17th in 25:41.

The Panthers ended with 56 points. Webster won the team title with five performances in the top 10 and 24 points.

The Panthers will return to competition on Nov. 16 in Winneconne, Wis., at the NCAA midwest regional.
