Women's cross country races to second place at Illinois-Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The women's cross country team competed at the Illinois-Springfield meet on Friday afternoon and placed second of four teams.

The Panthers posted a final score of 51 points to finish between Illinois-Springfield and McKendree, two NCAA Division II schools.

Greenville had a runner place sixth overall when Gretchen Carie completed the five kilometer course in 20:45. She was followed by Hannah Williams among Greenville's finishers. Williams was ninth with a final time of 21:04.

Sedina Logan was the No. 3 runner to cross the finish line for the Panthers as she ran a 5K time of 21:30 to finish in 13th place. Keiko Palen was 16the with a time of 22:10, and Emma Leonhard brought home 19th place in 22:26..

The Panthers will next compete on Friday, Sept. 17, at Olivet Nazarene's Midwest Intercollegiate.
