Bio

B.J. Schneck was appointed as director of athletics in 2024.  Previously, he served as sports information director at Greenville University for 23 years.  He completed his sports information career as the the longest-tenured SID among SLIAC members.

Schneck's responsibilities include management of a 23 program Athletic Department. Highlights of his tenure at Greenville University have included oversight of the Jack D. Trager Memorial Panther Pride Golf Scramble, an event that has grown to reach nearly $20,000 in net proceeds, the initiation of webstreaming for all home events, the introduction of live statistics for online viewing, social media efforts, photography, direct supervision of the Hall of Fame event, transitions through three new website launches, and COVID testing site coordinator.

He graduated from Greenville College in 2001 with a bachelor of arts in communication and marketing and completed a master of science in education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2004 with a major of kinesiology and sports management emphasis.

He was elected to a two-year unexpired term in April 2021 and re-elected to a four-year term in April 2023 as a park district commissioner in the Kingsbury Park District where he serves as Treasurer. He has served for six seasons (1998-99 and 2017-20) as an assistant youth baseball coach within the park district.  

He and his wife Laurie were married in July 2008 and have two children, William (6/9/10) and Maelynn (4/19/12), and a Cavapoo named Luci.  They reside in Greenville where they are members of the Greenville Free Methodist Church and have served together as members of the hospitality impact team and taught a Sunday school class.
