Baseball drops opener 13-3 at Rhodes

The baseball team opened their season with a 13-3 loss in seven innings to Rhodes. Despite carrying a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning, the Panthers surrendered four runs over the next three innings.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The baseball team opened their season with a 13-3 loss in seven innings to Rhodes. Despite carrying a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning, the Panthers surrendered four runs over the next three innings.

Snyder Pennington provided the offensive firepower for GU when he blasted a three run home run in the fifth inning with Zack McClease and George Schneider on base.

Rhett Pennington added a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, including a triple.

Luke Fleener gave up eight runs, five earned, over 4.1 innings for the loss.

The Panthers (0-1) face Augustana and Rhodes on Saturday.
