Baseball topped 7-6 by Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The baseball team completed their 10th contest of the season with a four run come-from-behind effort to tie their game against Millikin in the top of the ninth inning before surrendering a run in the bottom of the ninth to drop the game 7-6.

The Panthers scored single runs in the top of the third and fourth innings to establish a 2-0 lead after four and a half innings.

The Big Blue scored one run in the fifth inning and five in the sixth to take a 6-2 lead before GU's rally in the top of the ninth.

The notable performances from the Panthers offense came from the top two positions in the batting order.

Jacob Sutton went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI while Snyder Pennington hit 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Luke Fleener started on the mound for the Panthers and pitched three scoreless innings before turning over the pitching rubber to Cade Buehnerkemper who allowed one run in two innings.

The Big Blue scored five runs, three earned, off of Braden Maltbie in one inning, and Jacob Hammer permitted the winning run in the bottom of the ninth after working 2.1 innings.

The Panthers (3-7) will next compete on Monday in Florida against Hope.
