RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The football team returned home from Wisconsin-River Falls with a loss. The Panthers were defeated 66-7.
How it Happened:
Although the Falcons put up sixty-six points before GU scored, we saw some impressive defense from the Panthers.
Elias Velasquez and Lawrence Harris led the defense with a combination of twenty-four tackles. Velasquez collected fourteen tackles, including seven solo ones, with one sack, while Harris had ten tackles.
On their last drive of the game, the Panthers marched ninety-nine yards down the field with ten plays to score a touchdown.
Keith Watson gave GU a first down after a completed pass from Heath Neibch. Neibch then threw it to Dominic Esparza who ran it downfield forty-five yards for another first down.
After a few short rushes from Terrel Graves and another completed pass to Watson, Greenville landed at the Wis.-River Falls one-yard line. Graves rushed it into the endzone to put the Panthers on the board. Luke Miller's extra point attempt was good, leaving GU at seven points.
Adrian Hinton led the offense with forty-one rushing yards.
Up Next:
