Football triumphs over Martin Luther in last 28 seconds of game
GREENVILLE, Ill. - In a thrilling homecoming contest at Francis Field, the Greenville Panthers triumphed over the Martin Luther Knights 42-35, showcasing their grit.
How it Happened:
The Panthers kicked off the scoring with Adrian Hinton's impressive 31-yard touchdown run, setting the tone for a back-and-forth battle.
Greenville quickly responded to every Martin Luther challenge, as quarterback Max Lynch connected with Terrance Brown, Kaiden Cervantes, and Dominic Esparza for crucial touchdowns. Hinton, a standout performer, rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to break tackles and drive the Panthers downfield.
As the game entered its final minute, Lynch's 17-yard pass to Esparza capped an 84-yard drive, putting the Panthers ahead for good.
Lynch directed his offense with 223 passing yards and 29 rushing yards.
Elias Velasquez and Thomas Linnear led GU's defense with multiple tackles. Velasquez collected seven, while Linnear collected six tackles, two sacks, and one QB hurry.
