Braydon Kunz joins Greenville to help launch men's and women's bowling
GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Greenville University Athletic Department is excited to announce the launch of our men's and women's bowling programs for the 2025-26 school year.
"When prioritizing new programs, we saw a successful future in bowling. We received a lot of support from our local bowling alley owners, John and Amber Helige, and were able to partner with them," said Dr. Doug Faulkner, Associate Vice President for Athletics and Chief of Staff. "In addition, we saw similar institutions who had started bowling and did it well, giving us evidence that it will work."
Braydon Kunz was hired on as head coach for both programs. Kunz comes to Greenville from Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. At Grace, Kunz was a four-year starter and assumed some coaching and recruiting responsibilities as a junior and senior. He also has collected five years of coaching experience through private lessons.
Graduating with a bachelor's degree in sports management and a minor in marketing, Kunz brings a lot of energy, vision, and knowledge to the department. His passion and dedication to sharing Christ through athletics will greatly impact both programs.
"Being able to start a program has always been a dream of mine," says Kunz. "I know that I have the knowledge and the skills to help coach a successful team, and I want to be able to prove that."
Faulkner stated, "Braydon was a strong fit for GU, a good communicator, and possessed great energy and enthusiasm from which the program will benefit."
Kunz will spend the next year recruiting athletes and building the two teams. For the inaugural season, both teams will compete as a club sport.
