JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team scored two goals in the first half, but Illinois College managed to put two balls in the net in the second half before the teams ended in a 2-2 draw in double overtime on Tuesday.
Greenville dominated the field of play with 32 shots and 15 shots on goal, but they couldn't manage to add a second half goal for the win.
Luis Duran ended the match with five shots, three on goal, and one goal. He scored in the 13th minute of the match.
Before the first half ended, Pablo Valverde gave Greenville a 2-0 with an assist from Luis Partida in the 44th minute.
Jared McPeek joined Duran with five shots, and Luis Salazar posted four shots.
David Quijano started the match in front of the net for GU and was not required to stop a shot. Gerardo Lopez played the second half as GU's goalkeeper and allowed both goals.
The Panthers (0-1-1) face DePauw on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET in Indiana.
