BEREA, Ky. - The men's soccer team defeated Berea 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, evening their season record.
The Panthers scored first in the 8th minute. Pablo Valverde scored with an assist from Antonio Gomez.
A foul in the box gave Berea a penalty kick in the 24th minute. The Mountaineers tied the game 1-1 with the PK.
It was a tied game going into halftime, even though Greenville outshot Berea 12-4 in the first half.
The Panthers also received a PK opportunity in the second half. Andres Garcia took the penalty kick and scored, making it 2-1. Greenville ended the day with a total of seventeen shots. They outshot Berea 17-11.
