Men's soccer returning to NCAA tournament as SLIAC tournament champions
The men's soccer team defeated Webster 1-0 in Saturday evening's SLIAC tournament championship match to advance to the NCAA's national tournament for the second straight season.

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team defeated Webster 1-0 in Saturday evening's SLIAC tournament championship match to advance to the NCAA's national tournament for the second straight season and earn their fifth SLIAC tournament championship.
A header from Nicolas Conde crossed the goal line in the 47th minute after a free kick from Edgar Barrientos to give GU the only goal they needed.
Following the match, Jaime Sainz, Pablo Valverde, and Patricio Pichardo heard their names announced as members of the All-Tournament team. Pichardo collected the MVP honor.
The Panthers (11-7-4) will discover their tournament destination on Monday afternoon.
