MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The men's soccer team traveled to Maryville, Tennessee this weekend to face Piedmont and Maryville (Tenn.). On Friday, they faced a tough loss against the Lions and then turned it around to tie Maryville (Tenn.) on Saturday.

How it Happened:
Game 1 vs. Piedmont
The Panthers scored early in the first half to take the 1-0 lead. Tim Florek drove in a corner kick to Rafael Navas who flicked it to Gabriel Sule. Sule poked it into the goal in the eighth minute.
The Lions tied it up later in the half to make it 1-1 before halftime.
In the 77th minute, Samuel Paez hit an unassisted one-timer to take back the lead.
However, Piedmont made it 2-2 with only five minutes left and tacked on a winning goal in the 87th minute.
Greenville did well offensively, though, outshooting the Lions 23-17. Navas led the team with four shots.
Valon Ismaili was in the net for the full ninety, protecting it with six saves.
Game 2 vs. Maryville (Tenn.)
Game two was an even matchup between the Panthers and Scots. Greenville put up sixteen shots, only two behind Maryville (Tenn.).
The game remained scoreless until the second half when Sule knocked one in with an assist from Andres Garcia to make it 1-0.
Unfortunately, the Scots knotted it up in the 86th minute, and the score stayed at 1-1.
Garcia led the offense with three shots, all on target.
Ismaili and Alvaro Marchal split time in the goal. Marchal had three saves, and Ismaili collected two.
