GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team held the 14th-ranked Polar Bears to only two goals on Monday afternoon. The Panthers were overcome 2-0 by Ohio Northern.
How it Happened:
1st Half
ONU controlled a lot of the possession in the first half, scoring in the 18th and 45th minutes.
However, Matheus Reis was able to get a shot off in the 40th minute, but it was saved by the keeper.
2nd Half
Greenville's defense persisted in the second half as the game got a bit more chippy. Fouls and cards increased but so did GU's shots.
Gabriel Sule collected two shots and Rafael Navas had one, but none landed for the Panthers.
Hiram Cruz was at goalie for the first half and collected four saves, while Alvaro Marchal protected the net in the second half with one save.
