The men's soccer program tied Webster 3-3 on Saturday and then triumphed over Eureka 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened:
Game 1 vs. Webster. - 10/5/24
The entire first half was aggressive with a total of five goals being scored. Webster started it off with a goal in 2nd minute, but GU matched it only thirty seconds later. Ivan Cano-Mayayo knocked one in with an assist from Rafael Navas.
However, the Gorloks tacked on two more goals in the 24th and 35th minutes. The Panthers closed the gap in the 40th minute with a goal from Gabriel Sule, making it 3-2 before halftime.
In the second half, GU attempted to tie it up with seven shots. Then, in the 61st minute, Andres Garcia drilled one in to knot it up.
Sule and Garcia led the team with four shots each, while Valon Ismaili protected the net for GU with six saves.
Game 2 vs. Eureka - 10/9/24
The Panthers found success in the game against Eureka. Gu outshot the Red Devils 19-12 and collected two goals.
With the game at 0-0 for most of the first half, Carlos Crespo gave Greenville the lead with a goal in the last minute of the half. Garcia collected the assist.
Sule put the second goal on the board in the 71st minute.
Ismaili was in the net again for the Panthers, recording three saves.
