BATESVILLE, Ark. - In a hard-fought matchup, Greenville battled back to secure a 1-1 draw against Lyon.
How it Happened:
1st Half
The first half was marked by a series of strong defensive plays, with goalkeeper Alvaro Marchal making crucial saves, including a standout stop against Lyon's Gustavo Giesbrecht.
Rafael Navas and Matheus Reis both put shots on target, but Lyon's keeper shut them down.
2nd Half
After Lyon took the lead with a goal in the 54th minute, Greenville's persistence paid off when Andres Garcia found the equalizer in the 76th minute, assisted by Pedro Kamada.
GU pressed for a late winner, coming close several times with shots from Kamada, Jaime Torres, and Richard Kerwer. Kerwer had a near miss that hit the woodwork in the 83rd minute.
After tying Lyon, the Panthers sit at number three in the conference standings, just behind the Scots.
