Men's tennis takes UMAC South Championship title
The men's tennis team was named the 2025 UMAC South Champions after sweeping MUW and Principia in the UMAC South Tournament.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's tennis team was named the 2025 UMAC South Champions after sweeping MUW and Principia in the UMAC South Tournament.
How it Happened:
Match 1 vs. MUW:
The Panthers beat MUW 6-0 in the semifinals, winning the doubles point and five singles matches.
Rafael Rodriguez and Jean Sanabria competed at the one spot in doubles, winning their match 6-0, while Andres Sanchez and Jade Dynamic won at the No. 2 spot (6-0).
Every Panther swept their singles match in two 6-0 sets. Sanchez, Rodriguez, Sanabria, Dynamic, and Clark Kent all contributed to the GU win.
Match 2 vs. Principia
After winning the doubles point, the Panthers won three singles matches to secure the championship match 4-0.
Rodriguez and Sanabria won their doubles match 6-3, and Kent and Francisco Trujillo won theirs 6-1.
To clinch the title, Sanchez (No. 1), Kent (No. 5), and Dynamic (No. 6) won their singles matches.
Sanchez won his in two 6-0 sets, while Kent and Dynamic had a little more competitive matches. Kent won his singles with 6-1 and 6-2 wins, while Dynamic finished his with 6-0 and 6-3 victories.
