Men's track & field - 2025 Indoor Champions
ELSAH, Ill. – The men's track and field team is the 2025 SLIAC Indoor Track and Field Champion after putting up a 200.00 to take first. The Panthers had an impressive eight gold finishes, six second-place finishes, and six third!
How it Happened:
In the long jump, Jordan Peternel posted a 7.03m jump for first place.
Chase LaTouche killed it, earning first in the 400m with a 51.05s and also taking the gold in the 200m with a 22.70m. LaTouche was named the 2025 Indoor Track Athlete of the Year!
Gianni Estrada ran a 4:31.50 in the one mile and a 9:09.17 in the 3000m to take the top spot in both.
For the 800m run, Joe Gomez finished first, running a 1:59.15.
The 4x400 and DMR teams both earned the event titles. Jared Ury, Peternel, LaTouche, and James McMinns posted a 3:28.50 in the 4x400, while Jack Arends, Ben Hornaday, Ray Dagner, and James Goodenow earned an 11:31.91 in the distance medley.
Cory Stoll also had an impressive outing, earning second in the 200m (22.82s) and the 60m dash (7.02).
D'Mar Battle earned a silver finish in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.95s.
Many other athletes were able to place high in their events, adding points and contributing to the team win.
Up Next:
The Panthers run at Carthage next Saturday before heading to the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships the following week.
