GREENVILLE, Ill. – The men's volleyball season looks promising for the upcoming year. Coach Butler has spent the last year recruiting athletes, scheduling matches, and much more to rebuild the program.
According to Butler, nine Panthers are joining the team – four freshmen, four transfers, and one current GU student. Butler states that there is still room for a few more additions to the team by the start of the season.
Matches are still being added to the 2025 schedule, but the men's volleyball team is currently set to have thirteen matches, including four home ones and a few tri-matches! The Panthers will see some familiar competition as they face teams such as Westminster (MO), Augustana (IL), and Concordia Chicago.
"This upcoming season is extremely exciting! The talent on this team's roster is impressive; they are already playing at a high level and have shown serious investment in the program," said Head Coach Butler. "The upperclassman transfers bring a lot of experience to the team, creating a nice balance of upperclassmen and underclassmen, which is crucial for the program's relaunch. Seeing the men's game grow and being a part of it is really exciting, and we are so happy to have it back at Greenville!"
Coach Butler will welcome the team to campus this August and prepare for the season to start in January.
