Men's volleyball is back in action with midnight match against UHSP
The men's volleyball team returned to the court for the first time since 2020 with a midnight match against UHSP, falling 3-0.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The men's volleyball team returned to the court for the first time since 2020 with some midnight madness. They kicked off their season with a 12:01 a.m. match against UHSP on Thursday morning, ultimately falling 3-0 (22-25, 14-25, 17-25). It was a competitive effort from the Panthers, and despite the loss, they displayed some strong play to build upon for the season ahead.
How it Happened:
The team showed grit in the first set, keeping the score tight before UHSP pulled away. The Panthers were resilient in the next two sets and rallied back from some big deficits.
Tyrone Ealy led the way for Greenville with five kills, an ace and a block, while Kevin McGhee Jr. contributed fifteen assists and six digs.
Caleb Day was a defensive all-star, throwing up five blocks for GU.
The Panthers showed depth in their roster, having all nine guys see some playing time on the court.
