CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The men's volleyball team collected their first win of the season at the Wabash tri-match! After losing 3-0 to Wabash, the Panthers fought to beat Maranatha Baptist 3-0.
How it Happened:
Match 1 vs. Wabash
Greenville fell to undefeated Wabash in straight sets (13-25, 22-25, 19-25).
After a slow start, Greenville fought hard in the second and third sets.
Hunter Paulson led Greenville with six kills and two blocks, while Sam Molitor added five kills and an ace.
Setter Kevin McGhee Jr. tallied 12 assists and six digs.
Match 2 vs. Maranatha Baptist
Greenville swept Maranatha Baptist 3-0 in a dominant performance. The Panthers secured a decisive victory, with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-12.
Tyrone Ealy led the offense with five kills and thirteen points (six aces), while Andrew Weir added eight kills and eight points.
Jay Ramirez controlled the defense with ten digs, and Ealy posted two blocks.
John Gannucci had a good outing as well, putting up four kills, four aces, and five digs.
Greenville's offensive efficiency (0.292 hitting percentage) overwhelmed Maranatha, as they claimed their first win of the season.
