In a thrilling extra-inning battle, the softball team secured a dramatic walk-off victory over Monmouth (Ill.) in game one of their doubleheader and short-gamed the Scots in game two.

GREENVILLE, Ill. – In a thrilling extra-inning battle, the softball team secured a dramatic walk-off victory over Monmouth (Ill.) in game one of their doubleheader and short-gamed the Scots in game two.
How it Happened:
Game 1 (9-8)
Despite falling behind early, Greenville erupted for six runs in the fifth inning, with Josie Grunloh delivering a clutch two-run single to take the lead.
Monmouth fought back, tying the game at seven in the seventh inning with a wild pitch allowing the equalizing run to score.
With the game on the line in the eighth, Ashlyn Colvis played the hero, driving a single to right field to bring home Emma Williams and Natalee Moore for the walk-off win.
Colvis led the Panthers with a 4-for-5 and two RBI game.
Destiny Dunlap (5-0) earned the victory in relief, while Greenville's offense racked up ten hits.
Game 2 (16-0)
Greenville wasted no time taking control, scoring in every inning.
Madi Case (2-2) led the offensive explosion, driving in six runs, including two on a single in the second inning.
Allie Stewart contributed with a three-run homer in the fourth, extending the lead in a 10-run inning that sealed the game early.
Melissa Bernal was stellar in the circle, earning her fifth win of the season with a complete-game two-hitter. She struck out two and allowed just two walks.
