ELSAH, Ill. - The women's basketball team picked up a needed SLIAC win with a 55-50 victory over second place Principia on Tuesday night in a road matchup.
Savana Powell-Goodman took the reins of the Panther offense and supplied 22 points in the win.
Carolina Hoffman added 13 points and four assists, while Hailey Fanning and Natalie Iberg each added eight points. Fannin earned her first start of the year and led GU with seven rebounds.
Principia led Greenville 12-11 after one quarter, but GU took a 26-21 lead to the locker room at halftime.
After three quarters, Principia regained a slim 42-40 lead, but GU ramped up their game and outscored Principia 15-8 in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers (11-9, 8-5 SLIAC) will host Fontbonne on Saturday in Greenville at 1 p.m. in their Senior Day.
