GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team defended its home court with a gritty 54-47 win over Spalding. The Lady Panthers showcased resilience and tenacity, overcoming an uncharacteristically slow second quarter to seal the victory in the last quarter.
How it Happened:
Greenville jumped out to an 18-13 lead in the first quarter. After a lackluster second quarter where Greenville managed just one point, they rebounded with a decisive fourth-quarter surge, outscoring Spalding 20-13.
Alyssa Seymour led the charge for Greenville, recording a dominant double-double with fourteen points and eleven rebounds.
The team's defense shone, forcing eighteen turnovers and holding Spalding to just 26.2% shooting from the floor. While the Panthers struggled from three-point range (0-17), they dominated inside, out-rebounding Spalding 53-36 and converting 74.1% of their free throws.
