Women's basketball celebrates Senior Day with intrasquad game
The women's basketball team celebrated its four seniors with an intrasquad game after Fontbonne forfeited due to a lack of players. The Panthers were credited with a conference win, putting them at a 9-7 SLIAC record.
GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team celebrated its four seniors with an intrasquad game after Fontbonne forfeited due to a lack of players. The Panthers were credited with a conference win, putting them at a 9-7 SLIAC record. However, GU still wanted to honor their seniors, so they played a Team White vs. Team Black intrasquad game in front of their home crowd. Team White ended up winning 62-45.
How it Happened:
The seniors (Natalie Iberg, Carolina Hoffman, Ana Castan, and Savana Powell-Goodman) made up the starters for Team White along with Cortney Brummer.
Team White had a twenty-point lead at halftime (41-21) when Team Black tried to rally in the third quarter, outscoring Team White 15-9. However, White finished it off with a twelve-point fourth quarter.
Powell-Goodman led White with fourteen points, five assists, and six steals, while Dru Clark led Black with fourteen points and eight rebounds.
As the last home regular-season game came to an end, the Panthers were able to celebrate the seniors' hard work and dedication. Thank you, seniors!
