Women's tennis tops Millikin 6-3
The women's tennis team took a 6-3 win over Millikin on Monday afternoon at the Scott J. Burgess Tennis Complex.
GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team took a 6-3 win over Millikin on Monday afternoon at the Scott J. Burgess Tennis Complex.
The Panthers faced a 2-1 deficit after the doubles matches, but the team responded with wins in five of the six singles matches.
The lone doubles win was posted by the No. 3 duo of Emily Buratovich Maltbie and Stephanie Kamp with an 8-6 victory.
Despite losing in No. 1 singles, the Panthers won No. 2 through No. 6.
No. 2 Addison Brannon gained a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win, and No. 3 Lanie Carder defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-1.
No. 4 Callie Adkins won 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), and No. 5 Natalia Higashi picked up a 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 win.
No. 6 Stephanie Kamp downed her opponent 7-5, 2-6, 10-5
The Panthers (9-6) travel to Principia on Thursday afternoon.
