Women's tennis kicks off spring at Transylvania
The women's tennis team kicked off their spring in Kentucky, facing Transylvania, Ohio Northern, and Asbury, going 0-3 on the weekend but seeing some promise from Lily Gregory and Lanie Carder.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - The women's tennis team kicked off their spring in Kentucky, facing Transylvania, Ohio Northern, and Asbury. The Panthers went 0-3 on the weekend but saw some promise from Lily Gregory and Lanie Carder.
How it Happened:
Match 1 vs. Transylvania (L, 0-7)
The Panthers dropped their doubles decision along with all six singles, but Carder and Gregory managed to sneak by in their doubles match. They won 7-6 with a tiebreak victory of 7-2.
Emily Kowalke, Callie Adkins, and Gregory all had competitive singles matches ending in tiebreaks.
Match 2 vs. Ohio Northern (L, 0-7)
Against ONU, the Panthers faced tough competition and weren't able to capture a win across the board.
Irlanda Oliver took her first singles set to 5-7 before falling 3-6 in her second one.
Natalia Higashi also managed to win two sets in each of her games.
Match 3 vs. Asbury (L, 1-6)
GU picked up a singles win against Asbury. Gregory won the number four singles match with two 6-3 set wins.
Adkins also had a great match in the number three spot, losing in the tiebreak after a 6-3 win in set one.
Gregory and Carder had another impressive doubles performance, winning 6-4. However, the Panthers didn't come away with the doubles decision though.
